SpotScan, a component of ASI's suite of software modules, runs on ASI’s automatic scanning platform, ScanView.  ScanView is an open, modular platform that allows the use of common hardware with SpotScan, MetScan and ReloScan, either individually or interactively, for a variety of applications in genetics, hematology, pathology, and much more.

Spot counting, including the generation of cell statistics, is becoming a clinical need for new cancer genetics markers such as HER-2/neu.  The regulations require quantization of from sixty to hundreds of cells to be used for a complete evaluation, which is an exhausting task for manual counting.  An automated system that scans and quantifies multiple slides has a clear advantage in budgetary and manpower efficiency.  SpotScan has been designed to bring benefits of both efficiency and accuracy to genetics and pathology laboratories.  SpotScan is an ideal solution for multiple marker assessment and quality control protocols.
