What is Chromosome Painting?

Chromosome painting refers to the hybridization of fluorescently labeled chromosome -specific, composite problem pools to cytological preparations. Chromosome painting allows the visualization of individual chromosomes in metaphase or interphase cells and the identification of both numerical and structural chromosomal aberrations in human pathology with high sensitivity and speificty. In addition to human chromsome-specific probe pools, painting probes are now available from ASI for mouse and rat.

What Colors Are Available?

Single Whole Chromosome Painting Probes are now available in three colors, red, blue and green for human, mouse, and rat.

Customized probes are available as well.
